Historical Note:

Locomotive 1466 holds a legendary status among railway enthusiasts. Built in 1932 by the Great Western Railway at Swindon, it survived the scrap heap to become the very first locomotive purchased by the Great Western Society. It was the founding engine that kickstarted the famous Didcot Railway Centre preservation site, making this particular running number highly meaningful to collectors.
