This specific model has been meticulously tailored for realistic layout operation. It strips away the toy-like sheen of standard vintage releases, replacing it with realistic, subtle weathered finishes across both the locomotive and the tender bodywork.

Mechanical, Digital & Coupling Upgrades:

Drive Mechanism: Authentic locomotive-driven design (internal motor inside the boiler casing rather than a tender-drive).
DCC Configuration: Custom DCC conversion. To preserve space and internal detail, the DCC decoder is housed neatly inside the tender, linked to the main locomotive via an added, permanent hardwired wiring loom.
Tested Digital Status: Fully dual-compatible. Runs on both traditional analogue DC layouts and digital DCC systems under Address 3.
Running Note: It currently runs slightly intermittently on test. The internal motor runs soundly, but it requires a standard wheel-tread clean and pickup alignment to guarantee smooth slow-speed running on your tracks.
Modified Couplings: Optimized for fine-scale operation. The front dummy coupling has been removed for a clean front-end display appearance. The rear tender tension-lock has been cleanly upgraded to a high-performance Kadee Buckeye knuckle coupling.
